1977 H-D Sovelhead Sportster oil routing.
Does the rear oil pump connection come from oil tank feed connection.
Where the front oil pump connection goes. ( Not the oil sending unit. )
Where does the rear engine connection goes. ( Are these both oil tank return connections. )
Is it better to connect the crankcase ventilation connection from the end of the generator to the air breather or to an individual breather in regards to positive crankcase ventilation and oil tank blow out.
What is the best the line to install an external oil filter and oil cooler.
Any info would be greatly appreciated,

shovelhead sportster....hmmmmm, that's a new one to me
I guess I have seen a couple of custome shovesters, but that requires using the top end off a shovel and the cases off a sporty engine, and alittle machine work, some fab work, and a lot of hard work.
You sure you got the right motor? you sure it's a shovel....or better yet, you sure it's a sportster?

If it's a sportster, it's an IRONHEAD, not a Shovelhead. Shovelheads were Big Twins.
The oil pump has two fittings, the oil filter has two fittings, the engine block has two fittings, and the oil tank has three fittings: two on the bottom and one on top.
Your oil gravity feeds from the line at the bottom of tank, to the oil pump. (inlet)
Then, a line runs from the pump (outlet) to the oil filter inlet.
A line then goes from the oil filter outlet to oil tank return fitting.
This pic may help:
