Twin Cam 103™ Engine Highlights:
Traditional V-Twin Styling: The Twin Cam 103™ engine
remains the styling centerpiece of each Harley-Davidson
Police Big Twin model, and it retains the look, sound and feel
that has always been part of the Big Twin character. The Twin
Cam 103™ engine preserves the styling characteristics of the
Twin Cam 88® engine and the heritage of its predecessors.
Oil Cooler: A thermostatically controlled oil cooler is now
standard equipment on the Police FL models. The oil cooler
provides a clean look and efficient oil cooling for Twin Cam
103™ equipped models.

There are truly some great roads in the LaCrosse area. Some of my all time favorites are 95, 33 especially in the Wildcat Mt area, 131, 82, and 108 through the Mindoro Cut. The many "alphabet" county roads are really great too.

It is very interesting the Japenese V-twin makers have had oil coolers and also went to water cooled engines many years ago.

The 113 cu in pushrod v twin motor in the Star Stratoliner, Roadliner, and Raider is not a liquid cooled v twin. Neither are the 1100 and 950 cc motors in the V Star. They are air cooled.

Murfs account of outside temps reminds me why I live in FL.

Btw. For those going to bikeweek 2010 hope to see you there.

Axe56:

As I get older, I'll probably head south permanently too to get away from these temps. This past Oct. truly had record miserable cold and wet weather here in MN and there were very few nice days to ride.

I don't mind the cold as long as the road surfaces are free of salt and ice.

My father is in the same mind set. They are still in upstate NY and he has been extending his riding season for as long as humanly possible.

I'll have to look at a map to see if I've been on these but one of my all time favorites there is to find "Coon Valley" off of 14 and 162. Take county road P east to county S south. S is a great road that's easy to miss. When S ends I turn around and do it again. There are probably many many more of these also but this is my favorite.
