Even synthetic I change out at 3000 on my bike, because there's so little of it. Newer TC's have up to 4 qts, but my Evo Dyna barely takes 2.5 qts. I also only run synthetic in the winter, so the rides are shorter, equaling less good warm engine time to evaporate condensation and burn off byproducts.
If you went 4000 on a TC, with a pure Synthetic oil, and have more then 3 qts, you'll be fine. Even 5K would be fine to some people.

I don't run synthetic. I change my dyno oil every 2500 miles. Primary and trans every 5000 miles. Just makes me feel better.

Probably best this way, as if the primary is recommended by MOCO to be changed at every 5000 miles, but oil at every 6000 miles, the change mileages don't jive....
At 2500/5000 they do...........

I go by the manual, use mineral base oil, But almost all my rides are at least 100 miles. The engine always gets hot enough to drive off any moisture in the oil. When you are retired, with time on your hands, long rides are a good way to get away from a nagging wife.

I run SAE60 in my ironhead, and change it about every 2000 miles, but they are always hard miles. and the oil is black as can be and thick as honey when I change it
