Exhaust whistle????

I just moved to phoenix from Indiana and within about a week I started hearing a bell/whistle sound coming out of the exhaust. Im thinking maybe the exhaust valve is not seating completely. anyone know what it could be?

Stock exhaust? Neighbors with a VW bug playing tricks on you?

Not the stock exhaust. No baffles in them either.

Information that would have been helpful in your first post.

An exhaust valve not seating properly would cause a compression leak issue with associated performance issue....not a whisteling noise........

Whisteling noises are causes by exhuast gasket leaks, wind, rushing air past something.......or a baffle with a tweaked fin.

Since you have no baffles..... how can you hear a whisteling noise, over extremely loud pipes?

Helmet straps whistle in the wind.......

Well , if ya hear the noise when you're not on the bike then you got yourself a case of tinitus from riding without the baffles ! Also the barometric pressure change from moving from one state to another can cause changes in hearing !
Then there's also the possibility that something loosened up during the move . Check all the exhaust clamps and the nuts at the header flanges for tightness .

I'm wondering if the exhaust is whisteling off the hole in the welded nut/pipe for the baffles that aren't there......

schmidty may be right again

"tinitus" LOL

Really, Try an ear candle or two- they are beez wax twisted up into a cone You palce the funnel end in your ear and burn it- it creates a thermosiphon and burns the crap out your ears-
Note: don't look at candle after burning!
After I burned a couple I found that 5/16 wrench I lost in the 70's.

59panhead , I've tried those beez wax cones before ! They work best if ya stick them thru a hole in a paper plate , that way the burning wax doesn't fall all over the side of your face !!! ...
They dang near suck your brains outta your ear by the looks of the gunk thats left in the end of it !
