crack in exhaust

hey my friends just found a nice size crack on the y section of my exhaust about 3 to 4 inches away from my head,can that cause a major problem on my ride,should I be concerned,I have an 07 electragliide standard with 45000 miles.cocern or not,Thanks brothers for your help....

A welder can fix anything but a broken heart and the crack of dawn.
Get it re chromed afterwards if you want.

Concerned ? Yes . The cold air getting sucked in thru the crack from reversion can burn the exhaust valve .

I'm not sure if the valve would warp or not .
As a side note : When the factory test runs newly assembled engines they run them with no exhaust , straight off the port but for a short period of time only .

Cheap and easy fix is to go to a welding shop and have a welder TIG weld the pipes while they are still bolted on.
Prevents warping of the pipe when it gets welded and then cools.

#2 on the welding.
Heat sheild will probably cover it.
Make sure you disconnect the battery, if welding that while on the bike.

Agree with battery disconnect when welding , both cables . Also unplug the ECM and regulator .
