You have to use the tap that comes with the Time Sert or Helicoil kit and those will contact the flywheel. Only a bottoming blind hole tap would work and I don't know if they're available in that size.

Idealy there should be no crankcase pressure, should be vacuum.

Another thing you could try would be a pipe plug, they've got tapered threads and might get tight enough.

check out ribbed "K" series nut rivits. i did a search for m rivets. at rivetsinstock.com
maybe some to these might work.this might work with red threadlocker.

I have not taken it out yet,,, waiting untill I have a tuning issue and a new electronic ignition to put in,,,,, will see what it takes to fix it and hopefully never open it again for a long time,,,,the "k" rivet might work good thought !!!

check out blind rivets, like "K" ribbed rivets such as hanson rivet supply & others
