Piston Rings

I would like to get some feedback on the best choice for piston rings for my 80" Evo top end overhaul. I am looking at the Hastings 2M6164's and the standard 6164's. That is, the "Moly" rings and the regular cast rings.

Pricewise, they are about the same. The top compression ring on the Moly set has a "moly" (I assume that is CroMoly) overlay on the face of the ring. All the other rings (2nd and oil rings) are the same as the cast set.

Is there any real significant difference between the two? I also found some Motor Factory rings that are supposedly made by Hastings that have the same description for significantly less money?

The chrome Molly rings will almost last forever but sometimes they have a hard time seating in. The standard cast rings will seat in faster. Either set you choose do a good crosshatch hone on the cylinders then when you 1st start the bike do 3 or 4 heat cycles before you ride it. That will help the rings seat in better. And make sure you position the rings as the service manual shows. That's very important.
