Should I Wait for the 1K?

I have been reading up on past posts about oil weights and tranny fluids. I want to add an oil cooler. So should I wait for my first 1k oil change or get that factory oil out of there when I add that cooler?

I may use the HD oil cooler. Does anybody have any experience with this cooler? Here is a pic. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Had one on my 07 RKC and loved it. Never had a problem over the three years I had it. I will be putting one on my Ultra when I hit the 1000 service also. I believe in conjunction with syn oil, tuner, true duals, and the oil cooler it keeps the engine from running hot.

I drained and replaced the factory oil at 500 miles and then again at 1000 miles. That stuff was mighty dirty at 500 so I say pop some nice fresh oil in there and enjoy the cooler. Everyone seems to like the HD cooler but I dont have one. My vrod comes with one installed from the factory.
