Agreed. My friend's bike had 40K on it when he did a 95" upgrade and new cams. The bearings were replaced at that time, and were on the verge of failure, but held out for 40K.
The most important part is buying a bike that's been serviced on a regular basis and was taken care of. Things like over all condition, service records and appearence will help you determine that.
