Need help in Sturgis

Sittin' in Sturgis, 2000 Road King acting up!! Took it out yesterday after we arrived here, no problems in a quick 20 mile trip of the area. Got up today for a little longer ride and engine is racing!! Idle will not go down, but cables and throttle seem OK. Any help/ideas greatly appreciated. I limped it over to Harley, Rapid City..they said get in line....thanks

Loosen the cables and try readjsuting them. If you trailered it and now the idle is high, it sounds like a cable that was damamged/altered from tie-down straps.

I would say Dave might be right, but another thing you might check, and this is a far off the way suggestion; the spring on my throttle lock on my bike was damaged and the thumb screw would vibrate "in" a little, causing only about 70% of full throttle movement, I could neither give the bike full throttle nor let off the throttle completely untill backing the thumbscrew out a hair. replaced the spring and everything was fine
