New member with exhaust question

Hi,
I own a 2003 Electra Glide Classic. I have put a set of 2007 Road Glide muffler on this bike. I like the slash down style. I figured these mufflers since they were from a 96 cubic inch engine, they would work well with my 88. However, I found out after I received them that they had Catalytic converters.
Is there a way to remove these? I am getting soot on my saddle bags and want to punch out the converters and the baffles.....will this help?
Thanks

Frank, since you used the magic words 1911 we won't run you out of town,

BUT USUALLY, somebody who neglects to do the new member introduction

and also asks about exhaust on their first post is shot, but ONLY ONCE,

AFTER they stop kicking.
