Straightshot slipons TOO LOUD!

Just put a pair of V&H straightshot slip ons on my 07 Heritage. WHOA BABY...makes my ears hurt. I do feel a little performance increase in the low and mid end, but the trade off is I'm going deaf. VH quiet baffles for these are gonna run me about 60 bucks. They only quiet them down by 3 DB, and I hate to throw good money after bad. Any body got any suggestions?

BTW....I only rode these home after getting them installed, so they only have less than 25 miles on them. If anyone has a pair of Rinehart slip ons or the old SE slip ons (Before they were 50 state legal) that are in like-new shape, and you want to trade...we can probably arrange something. I'm lookin for something louder than the current SE slip-ons but quieter than the V&H.....I was thinking about the Rinehart Q series, but I guess Rinehart is going out of business now that Bub doesn't make mufflers for them anymore. I'm lookin for that deep throaty rumble, not the VH slip-on sound.....has too much of an edge too it and is too loud. Can anyone suggest something? I read through nearly every single exhaust thread, but I thought I would ask for a fresh suggestion.

pipes

I have a set of V&h ovals that are on my 07 road king don't know if they are the same size but if they were we could work something out. I'm looking for something louder and I am only 45 minutes south of you so maybe we could listen to each others bike and see if its what we want, let me know.

Try throwing in some Big City Thunder QQ Series baffles. Power increase and they cut about 6 dB. Remember, each dB is a big difference.

I was just about to post my own thread when I came across yours about these. We are talking about the V&H Straight shot slip-on's right?

I guess we all have different aspects as to what's loud and what's not.

Fish42, maybe it's the year model I don't know but.... I just put these on my 09 heritage, and not happy with the sound they are producing at all, actually I'm very disappointed and regret the purchase. it kind of reminds me of the way a tractor sounds. Sounds nothing like a Harley, at all what so ever and once in 6th gear you can't even hear them at all. As for as loudness goes Uh Ah ain't happening on mine and as I just mentioned sounds nothing like what a Harley should sound. I foresee replacing with full exhaust somewhere down the road.

I am going to fit straight shots to my sporty in the spring the first post answers the question about the baffle kit.

Living in a big city is not the problem the cops have more to worry about than loud pipes, but in some rural areas if you ride a bike you are "The spawn of Satan" and get pulled if you fart to loud
