blocked exhaust
Recently purchased a 96 EG Classic which sat for a long time, got it running and the front pipe didnt take long to glow cherry red. Started ripping down the carb and exhaust, and the muffler for the front jug sounds like it rotted out and has rust chips stuck inside clogging up the flow. Rebuilding the carb and looking for another set of mufflers. Anyone out there looking to get rid of a stock set? Heat shields?

Going to look at a set found locally. The clogged exhaust was the issue, rebuilt the card and fired her up last night. will have to put something on to get it running correctly, had a hard time after i mounted the gas tank to get any fuel out of it. I rigged up a external "tank" and got it to run then found in the SM that the valve works off of vacuum pressure, will try again tonite to get it to draw off the tank.

Got a brand new set of RK mufflers for FREE!! Installed them and it eliminated the glowing pipe. I changed the intake gaskets which were shot and now I cant keep her running without holding the throttle. Even with the enricher all the way out. Before I change the intake gaskets she would run with enricher out and midrange but would'nt idle on her own, blasted some carb cleaner around the gaskets and found they were shot. I believe the carb is now the culprit. Got to get this thing going cause found out yesterday that my title still has'nt cleared from my V-Rod which I bought privatly 2 years ago. Sumbitch is still making payments. Now I got legal expenses, but have been fortunate that I never needed to make an insurance claim.
