Heres the closest pic I can find that would represent duals, with bags almost like mine.

http://avatars.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/s...ine=1251159792

this is just a google search.

my bags are not soft, their rigid, but they hang about like this.

i refer to my saddlebags of course.

baaahahahhahaha

anyway, man, there is more than enough room here, right?
and how come they never show the other side of the bike....the side where the dual bends around and thru the head, down and around the tranny, and out the back??

oh well, i wanna thank you guys for your input.

and, i will post some pics when i get this done.

thanks

russell

Ordered the V&H duals today. Went down to the dealer, had the mech come out and show me how they fit, how they would lie.
No problem with my saddlebags, and no problem fitting the back header in.
They are made for the 09 softail, after all!

Had a bike right there for me to look at, with the true duals, including fishmouth ;0) tips. (not my saddlebags, but small like mine).

Looked very cool.

So, I ordered em, will have em installed as soon as they arrive, and I will try and get a pic up here so y'all can grade the look for me.

Thanks

true duals wont fit with harley saddlebags. harley saddlebags have a bracket that has to be removed to make the duals fit.
leaves the right side of the bikes bag without support.
bike at hd now. say theyre making me a bracket to fit.

theyre the ones that told me it would fit, after i went down there at least three times to make sure.

cant wait to see what kind of machined bracket they come up with.

just want some frakking pipes on my bike, with no frakkin issues.

im telling you man, for guys that do this work all the time, you would think they would advice against getting something that wont fit, instead of making the sale, and dealing with the muss later on.

i get the bike back, supposedly, in a couple of hours. four hour job at 80 bucks an hour.

shit

I worry too much...

My bike is back.

Looks so good with the true duals.

Sounds unbelievable. (Pretty loud, but not outrageous)

Seems I sacraficed a bit of top end speed by changing out my exhaust, but the bike's power, and bottom end speed is better. I was having a hard time getting up to 80, something ive done only a couple of times anyway. (lowrider)

I drove it home from the dealer last night at about 6pm. A 19 mile drive across the desert with about a 20 mph wind blowing hard, right at me.
So maybe it was the wind, and maybe I just didnt get into it like I could have. My wife was on the back, it was a bit chilly, dark.....I spun it out a couple of times and it seemed I could not get it passed that mark.
Ill try again today. I think I was told that I would loose some overall performance with these particular pipes?

I will take some photos of my softail with her new exhaust today, after i clean it up a bit, and share them with you, if your interested.

morning wndchsr2..

yes, they look really, really good.
the guys at the dealer were up in the air about whether or not they could fit them on my 09 softail, because of the bags i had chosen.

here is a pic of my style of bags. i googled this just now. i really need to upload some pics of my bike.....

http://www.latus-harley-davidson.com...05_L_1cb26.jpg

they have to remove, i was told, the entire bracket that the stock pipes use, and it so happens that that particular bracket is what my bag was bolted to, on that side.

but they worked around it, put a heritage model bag bracked on it, and it came out looking really nice, sounds great, runs smooth.

i should have waited till the end of the day, when i got the bike back, (they had it all day, charged me for 4 hours labor), before i vented and posted negative.

but im extremely happy with the look, the sound, etc.

let me just add.....like was mentioned in one of the comments above in this thread, and im not looking at it so i applogize to bro who made the comment, but it really comes down to a tech, or service guy, or a welder in the shop, with some imagination, and they can get anything done. those guys could fit a v twin on a moped if they put their minds to it.

thanks wndchsr2....
