How do you check for an air leak

Is there something that you can spray, how do you find an air leak in the exhaust system, thanks

take a piece of hose pipe/garden hose of some sort about 3 feet long. hold one end to your ear and move the other end around where the suspected leak is, you will know when you find it.

never thought of that with the hose.. heard of people holding a lighter around it though.. the flame will get blown out with quick puffs from the exhaust leak

Exhaust leaks also make noise, like a "ticking" noise if it's at the head exhaust port, or a "piff" sound, if it's where the muffler meets the pipe. Look for black soot as well on the chrome.
