exhaust questions

I am new to the harley scene and I own an 05 heritage softail. It has stock exhaust and the sound is driving me crazy. Everyone we ride with has aftermarket exhaust and I feel it is time to change mine. Don't get me wrong, I like performance but I am more after a good sound and a solid running bike. I really like the Vance and Hines Big shots staggered. My bike is bone stock right now. I have been told many different things to do if I get this exhaust and I was just looking for some advice from some veterans. I have been told to get an air backing plate but I don't know what a good brand name is. I was also told I should get a jet kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some advice for you from another junior member. First, go to the New to the Community area and introduce yourself. And second, try the search area on here and see what you can find. More than likely a simular question has been asked and answered. Lots of good info on here from the old dogs. But they get a little grumpy repeating themselves without the first two getting accomplished first.

My opinion, adding pipes, get jet kit and upgrade air intake.

you can try a set of slip ons less money than a whole system and OK sounds...

slip on's good if your not in need of the power and my suggestion TC always for for Rienhart's sound sooooo good
