Do I need a Dyno when I upgrade my exhaust on 2007 Night Train

I'm about to install on my 2007 Night Train a Screamin’ Eagle Heavy Breather Air Cleaner and Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 1 Exhaust.

I know that I need to have the ECM refreshed for $150, but the Harley Mechanic said I will also need to have the Dyno done on it as well. The total cost including the Dyno is $550, but just to have the ECM refreshed would $150.

Does the Dyno have to be done, I thought when the refresh of the ECM was done the ECM will handle the new pipes and adjust accordingly. I would prefer not to spend the extra money on the dyno if I don't have to.

no you dont need to dyno it,if you where doing some big, fire breathing mods,i could see it (as long as dyno has a air/fuel monitor).but even then it wouldnt 100% neccesary.keep an eye on your plugs to make sure its not too lean.(are you saying your dealer charges $400.00 to dyno a bike??) time to find a new wrench!! we charge $50.00 for 3 dyno pulls!!

I agree. Dyno runs are generally $50-100 for 3 pulls and without a base run, AND a/f readings, it's worthless unless you just want to see if your last mod made more hp or torque.

Knowing your mods, you can have a remap done (stageI) or add a fuel management system to it and download a map closest to your mods, and you'll be fine.

For the $400 you'd spend (ouch) at a dealer for a dyno run, you almost bought 2/3 of some of the best a/f management systems out there.....

Don't know if I'm being any help...but this is what I was told...

My dealer recomended me to use the Harley Race Tuner on my Rocker, and have it dyno tuned when I get my V&H Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes and my Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather installed.

They include the dyno tuning as part of the install since I bought the bike from them a few days ago.

Also, he told me that if I bought my accessories within 60 days of the bike purchase, they would be covered under my 2 year warranty with my bike, as if they were installed from the factory (since it was new when I bought it).
