Rinehart slip-on review.

Bought Rinehart slip-ons for the Dyna. Had V&H slip-ons on it, and wanted a throatier, rumblier sound, not just noise. Weigh about 25%less than stock mufflers, and come with hardware, including poly-lock nuts. Installation is identical to OEM. Easy swap.

Install was 10 minutes with air tools, and the sound is impressive, and I don't *impress* easily. Low, deep, throaty grumble at idle, with a nice, raspy, crisp exhaust note on acceleration.

Pricey, IMHO at $499 list. Hey....got a free decal.

A good alternative to a stock muffler as it allows a nice, quiet note at low rpms when tooling through the neighborhood, yet barks like a happy dog on hard throttle passes. I really like the way they sound.

The black, anodized aluminum tips are knowd to "fade" and turn brown, in which, I'll take them off, (one allen screw) and strip them and polish them. Maybe the newer pipes have been corrected regarding this. Not sure.

Soon, I'll be doing a tutorial on tire changes. The Do's and Don'ts of changing your rubbers.....uh...rubber. Uhm.....you get it.

I'm sure there are. Bub/Rinehart makes pipes for almost anything now.

JPCycle carries some, but I believe you can check with your dealer too. I got mine from my dealer, because I get a 10% discount.

Air tools??!! Dave, can I come work on my bike at your house? It sounds a lot better than pulling up a sidewalk in Manhattan (can't let those tools out of site for a minute!). I'll bring the beer.

Rinehart Slip Ons

Dave, I took your advice and will soon have a set of these Rinehart Slip Ons for my 02 WG. The bike currently has SE tapered and from what I found this would be a good swap.

I haven't been able to find anything about needing to re-jet the carb when I go to these so that's my question (great write up on the re-jetting by the way, I'll follow it if needed). I don't know too much about the history of my bike but the engine is stock except for the SE Air so I don't know for sure if they did any re-jetting when the did the SE exhaust on this bike. I'll dig into it some more to see if they did any re-jetting or at least to see if the a/f is still plugged.

I searched the forum and other places on the internet to see what the recommended jetting is for these so any information would be helpful.

Thanks.
