Baffelectomy Stage-I ???

My buddy just spent a pretty penny on a brand new 2009 Softail Deluxe.

He is now VERY tight on funds however wants it to sound like a Harley! He plans on eventually getting a exhaust system but for now recommended he do one of your Baffelectomy stages on it. Which would you recommend ? I was shooting for the stage 1.

And the main question is, Do we have to get the bike tuned up after doing this or will it still run okay ? and a concern he has is, will it void his warranty ?

Or even better ... can anyone recommend a cheep slip on that would do the trick ?

Any help would be great !
Thanks in advance for all of your help.

-Ricky

Cycle Shack used to be the big thing back in the day, back before HD got into aftermarket stuff. Cycle Shack made the first Screaming Eagle exhausts as well.

I would on a 2009. They run lean enough as it is.

And do the upgraded air box at the same time (either Arlen Ness or Screaming Eagle).

Slip On's

I have a '06 Deluxe with Cycle Shack slip-on's. The sound is great. Re-Map required with slip-on's...Installed a Power Commander.

Run OK....probably, but as Brian said, lean. If you want to run your engine lean, that's up to you.

Okay there is no such thing as different stage bafflectomies. Stage one is a higher flow A/C and exhaust. Stage .5 is just exhaust. Drilling out the baffles of your stock pipes will improve the sound, but it ends up only sounding good at lower RPMs I've noticed. Under load at higher RPMs, drilled stock pipes sound aweful... and there are no performance gains whatsoever. Trust me. Get a set of Cycle Shacks. You won't want anything else.

So, couldn't you just simply remove your factory baffles, then cut them, then re-install or replace with some other kinda baffles?

If it's possible...How would you go about remove the stock baffle...Got any pics?

I've done it on dirtbikes and 4-wheelers that I wasn't worried about looks...but I don't wanna jack-up my chrome that others will see.
