Have an 05' WideGlide and am planning on an engine rebuild this winter. Bore Cylinders to 95ci. install S&S 510G cam. already have free flow A/C and Screaming Eagle II slip on's. "had V&H Big Radius exhaust with Fuel Pack" but did not like performance. My question is this. On an EFI system what would be better, the S.E.R.T. or a Power Commander III. I'm leaning toward the SERT. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking online at some kits today and was trying to figure out some differences. The '06 dyna is 88ci but I know that the cam drives are the new style. The 95ci kit says it fits til '06 except the Dyna. They do make a 107ci kit though. Why does the 95 not work on the '06? What other changes where made if any?

This might be more of a computer question. I'm honestly unsure of where the problem is.

My friend bought a SE Ignition Race Tuner for his carbureted '05 FXDL. Unfortunately, neither his computer nor mine have a serial port to connect with the tuner. He went to Radio Shack and bought a serial-USB cord and we've installed it on both our laptops. The cord has its own drivers, and appears in both our Device Managers in port COM4. However, with the ignition on, run switch on, neither of us are getting a "reply from module." That is to say, the device is using COM4, the software is using COM4, the software can communicate TO the module, but is not getting a reply FROM the module.

Can anyone help us solve our issue? Is it a cable problem? Computer problem? Module problem?

Thanks for your help.

I have a new one of these that was given to me for a big twin and the instructions show a different backing plate & bolts for '06 and newer. I have an '06 and everything seems to fit fine. The difference appears to be in the crankcase venting. newer ones seem to have grooves instead of a hole drilled through the support. Any drawbacks to using it?

What are some of you running and what would you recommend and what would you stay away from?

What about using my tuner to set it a bit rich as a safety margin??

I'm not lookin to spray all I possibly can, just a nice, safe booster shot.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts
