He seemed like a nice guy, and I... When I first called the number to gather information on this rally, I spoke with Mike Murphey, the owner, himself. He seemed like a nice guy, and I was comfortable with coming to this rally to spend my money in hopes of making some in return. Though upon arriving at the rally, my outlook quickly changed, and drastically so. It was only Friday, the first night of the actual kick-off to the Iron Angels, and my hands have already been completely tied.

I am a certified piercer, my partner is a certified tattoo artist with thirty-eight years in the industry that is OSHA certified. We have been here since Wednesday, and had told the people running this show upfront what our situation is. Thanks to Joe, the manager under Mr. Murphey, who was quite quick to tell my partner and myself that we can not make any money at this show, due to the fact that his affiliations with a certain biker group, only allow one tattoo artist, also affiliated with this biker group, to tattoo at the rally. Sure, I can respect that, but I paid them, up to the last dime in my pocket to get into this show, with the hopes and understandings that I was going to be able to get enough fuel money to atleast get to the next spot.

ALL LIES!!!!!

Not only have we been shut down, but this rally has turned out to be nothing but an ass raping of vendors, spectators, and whoever else wants to walk through that entry gate. Vendors are being charged double rent for their spots, even vendors that have been coming to this show for the past ten years are getting a reeming. This is no rally, this is not a fun place to be, and Mr. Murphey is allowing all of this to take place with his rude help, whom have done nothing but harass us since they've found out what our industry is. If half of the vendors come back next year, it will be a suprise.

At this point, we are contacting churches, and whoever else we can contact for help, this rally is nowhere near what it claims to be. And the great state of Texas is allowing these people to steal year after year. Well the Beast had another great week end!

The ride to the show was great, 45 minutes in perfect weather and mostly no traffic, a nice country road ride up US 301.

At the Music and motorcycle show we had a great time, there was a small town, USA Veterans Parade to start the day and it was awesome, from the small floats to the Vet bikers, the Parade it was great! There where a-lot of vendors and really great music and bands, then there was the Bike Show. I was the first one there so I had a great parking spot, by 6 pm there where about 75 bikes in the show and Rev. Jim started judging at 6:05 pm. We won 1st. place in the Sportster Class and also won.....JUDGES CHOICE!!!! I was really shocked by this win! Best of Show went to a guy with a 1967 Trumph that he restored 100%, it looked like it came off the show room floor!

The ride home was very chilly...brrrrrrrrrrr the temp dropped to about 59 and there was fog mist all the way home and I was wearing leathers but no gloves, but it was a perfect day all in all!

The next day we went to the Hard Rock Biker Bash, it was OK, nothing really special at this show but a great time was still had[TOO MANY RULES] there were about 65 bikes in the show, but the classes they had where messed up. Baggers in with Trikes, Sportsters, Dyna's and V-Rods in same class and so on, but the judges made a few changes and the show turned out really good!
We took 1st. Place in Old School Class, [I entered Sportster Class but the judges changed it]. Best of Show went to a guy that had built a custom trike that was bad to the bone! [photo posted]

It was a really awesome week end, hope next week end goes as well and the weather is as good for the next two shows.

We only did a short run then since we were doing the dreaded "have to do" stuff.

Sunday dawned clear and crisp with the promise of mid 70's, sunny and winds light and variable. We had a basic ride planned out to include lunch somewhere.

Turned out to be damn near like riding at a rally. More bikes than cars out on the back roads and every stop was like a bike show.

Saw one group and wish we had the camera....Babs would of loved it.....almost all older scoots, chopped, raked...you name it and they were definitely old school but fun to BS with and wanted to chat. I think it might be cause my wife is a petite cutie since they mostly talked to HER about things she could do to her Sporty. Seemed oddly uninterested in my bike. LMAO.

"needed" to be home by 2.....made it by 4:30. LOL

This story may be taken wrong and I probably should stop typing now but.....:1drink

Stopped for gas and a smoke break in the middle of nowhere. We were on a little picnic table under an oak next to the gas station. We hear a large group coming down the road and they pull in for gas and a drink. There was 9 of them.......I didn't know they made that many items with fringe. :eek7

Well thought that I would share a ride that I went on yesterday. It was the 09 Bug Run in Mt. Juliet. What they do is put a lil sticker in the middle of your headlight and send you off riding for 2-3 hrs to hit bugs. When you check back in, who ever had hit a bug closest to the middle of the sticker, won half the money raised. The ride was to raise money and food for the needy families.

I won:mwink and hit more than a bug, had a bird fly into me. $440 dollars was my share. But, it was for a great cause and I was riding with no intentions on winning, so I gave it all back and told them to put it with the rest of the money. We are going grocery shopping in the morning.

Well I did it, took the Chopster to Roscoe's and won Best Sportster Custom!!! There where a-lot of cool bikes in the show but I guess THE BEAST was just a little cooler!

The first of many wins I hope, the next big show is Nov. 14th. at the Zephyrhills Music and Motorcycles Bash then on Sunday Nov. 15th. at the Hard Rock Cafe' Tampa and then the Round Up's 13th. Anniversary Bash on Nov. 22nd. with a bunch of local bar and H/D dealer gig's during the weeks to come.

NOW AS FAR AS ROSCOE'S CHILI ETC. well I tried a few tastes and they where all great, the bike games... well a BLAST!!!!! Crapper Drags AWESOME as always!!!! And the free beer is always welcome but I didn't drink a drop all day, the Beast is a hand-ful to ride and a cop magnet,[a-lot loud] she rides very good but is touchy in the wind and it was pretty windy on Saturday. I'm going to lower the rear a bit and see if that helps, but I don't want to change to much because she really rides sweet!

Also as most of you know, ROSCOE'S is an adult event and well there was a-lot of T & A etc. everywhere! All in all, Roscoe's was a BLAST!

Next Year I will take the ole lady with me, hope she gets more involved in the events we go to, right now she just hangs out and well to be honest, she makes things boring, but that should all change because she just passed her M/C drivers license test's, now I just have to get her to loosen up and learn how to have fun!
The biker life style is new to her even with us being together for 2 plus years! She's kind-a shy and laid back, lived under a rock for years I guess, ha,ha,ha.

The next events I WILL TAKE PICTURES AND POST THEM, the ole lady will be going to all local events and will be taking most of the pic's..... she is really excited about the BEAST winning her first show and I hope this will light a fire under her A-- and she'll make the best of every event we go to!

Everyone, come to some of the events we will be going to this month, its always great to meet new people and make new friends! Looking forward to seeing any and everyone of you!!!

I posted a pic of us from Biketoberfest so you all know how ugly we are:rofl:!!!

On Saturday, I spent my Halloween at the drag strip - my first time ever racing anything! $25 got me through the gate, and it was for time, only. My squad leader rode out there with me on his '05 FXDL, displacing a not-too-modest 95 ci with the heavy breather hangin' off the side, singing the tune of a Supertrapp. Me, I'm rocking the Thunderheader, and a K&N air cleaner. Beyond that, I'm sporting the base calibration for an '09 1250 VRSC with O2 sensors and performance air cleaner. That's to say, not exactly tuned.

I was so nervous, I had cotton mouth, and I had a slight tremble as I took the bottle of water from the two very cute blondes working the concession stand. Yeah, sexy Night Rod Special be damned, it was not my smoothest moment! It was go time.

I was too nervous to do a burnout on my first pass, even in the water. I've done them on dry pavement before, I just wanted to get up to the line!

Adrenaline was maxed out as my senses dulled out. I had tunnel vision, staring at the tree, barely hearing my Thunderheader belting out a ferocious roar at about 6,000 rpm. I'm staring at the tree with all my focus, just waiting for that first yellow light. My opponent (my squad leader) is ready. My heart is pounding in my throat. I start releasing the clutch and opening up the throttle. I'm launched into my seat. I hit the rev limiter a couple times, and I'm down the track!

"Brake, you idiot! You can't just keep going," I reprimand myself as I pass the board. Clutch is in, applying the brakes. "Brembo makes a good brake," I think, doing about 25 mph, now cruising down pit row. I'm at the ticket booth. Congratulations to me! I won my first race ever! I get back to the concession area, where I've set up my private pit/garage (I rode my DX to the track, after all. No comfy trailer or SUV to work out of), and get to setting my rev limiter up to 10,000 rpm. I don't plan on actually needing it that high. Besides, I can set it as high as 11,500 rpm, so I'm sure I'm still treating her okay. Now: my red tach needle is going to be my shift light.

We head back to the track. It's fairly scarce, so we don't have to wait long. I run five more passes - six all together. Here were my bests (mind you, not all on the same pass).

Reaction: .1750 sec.
60': 1.8494 sec.
1/4 ET: 11.81 sec.
1/4 mph: 112.78

I know there's room for improvement. As a matter of fact, I've done some fine tuning with my Super Tuner tonight, and, I plan to do more next Saturday as I prepare for my first competition: the MMI Drags.

Waitin in line, there was about 1,500 bikes out of 2,000 that showed up. Rain in the morning kept some away!!!
