Hey guys I have a question, I have a 09 FATBOY & am ready for exaust change(a Christmas present to myself). I know I am going with V & H short shots, now any suggestions on air cleaners? Plus my big question is I here I need to have the bike remapped, or one person told me to go with a power commander. Any input on this would be appreciated. What is the difference between them? Is there performance difference?:1drink

I own a 2006 FLSTFI, and I' thinking of adding more comfort by raising the bar a little. I thought of apes, but the dealer said that it would easily cost $1200
Any suggestions?

Hey guys, I'm new to the HD world, been on a XL883C this past fall and already thinking about something with a better seating position and ride. I've been looking at a 99 Night train and 03 Standard. both have low miles. It seemed worth a shot to throw this out here and hear from the pilots of these (rather than in the Sportster section) what your thoughts are on each. I don't have a great deal of info on them, both have slipones (one SE and one V&H) and stage 1 air cleaner. Miles very compareable, overall condition also similar. Any thought would be appreciated.

Hey everyone -

I am new to this forums and Harley. I just purchased a '03 Heritage Classic. Coming from the sport bike world - my last bike was a Ducati Monster.

I would like to set up the Heritage without the passenger pillion for day to day riding, but want to be able to easily add it and the backrest. I found with the way the bottom backrest bolts were positioned, I had to remove the bags and a couple of bolts on the side bracket so I could pivot the backrest back a bit to get at the bolts. Am I missing something here? Is there an easier way to remove this backrest? Are there any aftermarket products that are quicker to go from a 1 to 2 up configuration?

Thanks

So, I've ordered a chrome inverted front fork for my 07 Softail. I currently run fork mounted passing lamps that fit around the upper fork tubes with clamps. Noticing that the inverted fork is a bigger diameter at the top, the passing lamp mounts won't work. Does anyone know if there are larger diameter clamps available anywhere in the world so that I can still use my current lamps? I'm not crazy about the look of a light bar, but man I love the way these things light up the road at night!

I saw that the existing clamps on the oil lines on the tank are metal bands that I am not familiar with. I guess you just cut these off and replace with standard screw type hose clamps? Thanks for any tips.

I got the fender removed from my 07 Softail, and have taken all of the extraneous hardware off of it. much to my chagrin, the stock seat has rubbed the clear-coat pretty bad, and before I can go with the solo seat, I'm going to have to buff this thing out, get it showroom finish, and get the swirl marks out. I pulled the protective tape off of it with the help of a hair dryer. What do you guys recommend, (and please don't say the girlfriends jugs). Although they do a great job of buffing my face.

Hello Again,
I've recently started another Softail project. I'm gonna slam it lower, and put an inverted fork front end on her this winter. I've been trying to find a comfortable solo seat that can be easily changed to the stock two-up when the old lady, (pictured at left) wants to go bouncing, er um riding along with me. I checked in to the Corbin Hollywood, but they weren't able to tell me if I can just switch seats whenever I want with no hassle. Also, Corbin claims that this seat won't fit because I have a chrome dash panel, (like a Springer CVO). Any suggestions? And no, the dash panel will not be coming off!

Thanks
