New Members

You know it seems this has come back around to being the topic of conversation in many posts again.

People are starting to pick on Dixiecrat cause he reminds people to use their manners that their momma taught em and introduce themselves before jumping in and asking for the answers to all of their questions, many of which just do that cause they are too lazy to research, or too cheap to buy a manual for their bike.

It's common courtesy folks

And why pick on Dixie? at least he's being nice about it and "mentioning" that someone might get a better response from the general forum members if they would intro themselves b4 asking questions. Damm, there use to be a member around here named IronheadBobber, he would literally chew you out and belittle you for the same thing, now Dixie does it politely and he gets bashed on for it.

Grow up people, like was mentioned earlier, you wouldn't go into your new neighbors house and ask to use their lawn mower and borrow a cup of sugar before introducing yourself would ya? Nah, didn't think so!

Let's see if any of the new members can start using some manners.

Hopefully the mods will make this a sticky...... if not, you have my permission to quit being so polite in your requests Dixie, go get'em like IronheadBobber did

Damn straight! Only reason I don't say it mysel is 'cause Dixie gets in there first!

Nothing wrong with expecting a little courtesy! There's too little of it these days!

Keep up the good work Dixie!

Hey, I have never "picked" on Dixiecrat. I consider him one of my buddies here. I did once make a joke about it to get a newbie to check in, but it was in the same spirit that Dix has when he tells newbies to check in, and was meant to give ole Dix a laugh. I don't think Dix took offense. I sure hope not. I give newbies a nudge to the new community section myself, so I am guilty too. If they can't take it, oh well . . .

Drum Dog, i don't think that was aimed at you at all mate. There's been a couple of snidey responses to Dixies requests by people with just a handful of posts lately.

Manners. They don't cost anything and they're worth so much!

Didn't think it was, but I was making sure people know where I stand - between Dix and the snidey people.

As one of the latest to comment on Dixies methods, I hope you didn't think I meant any harm - I was actually complimenting him on the creative way he can work that "Go to the introduction forum" line into ANY conversation.
I've been around a few forums and I know how important an introduction is.

Go Dixie!

Hey now.....I've messed with Dixie about it before....but I was joking and he knows it.

However, newbies should introduce themselves first.
