Fuel Indicator LED Gas Cap

Hey guys I have a chopper i built and it currently has a 2003 Shadow Spirit Gas tank and No speedo, no reserve, and no odometer...needless to say ive run out of gas several times. I saw the LED fuel indicator gas caps and was wondering if anyone had one, and how they worked?? Are they based off something that is already inside the harley tanks, or is it based off of a systems of floats that come with it??

You'll need a sender / float in the tank for the led to function . Why not just install a petcock with a reserve in it ...
By the way , hi there new guy !!!

It has one in it, but the reserve part doesnt seem to function correctly, i figured if i was spending the money on a new one anyways might as well make it look cooler, and my gas cap is currently very ugly.

If the tank has a float / sender then all you'll have to do is wire the cap up following the instructions . You can go to the led cap vendors web site to look up the schematic to see if it'll work on your tank . The tank will have to have the tube in the cap well for the wiring .
