Sorry....I didn't see this earlier.....
Retaining wire goes inside the caliper, between the caliper and the wheel.
L-shaped spacers are sliders. Hole goes UP.
YOU releasing pressure on the pedal allows the pads to relax. Lack of hydraulic pressure stops the braking friction. Nothing "pulls them back" mechaincally.
Open the link and press the schematic labled "Rear brake caliper"
