98 Ultra rear brakes

Put new pads on the rear brake and not sure if I assembled it right. The retaining wire go on the side with the caliber or torward the wheel. Also the L shaped spacers with the hole on one side, that the brakes slide into ,does it matter which way they face? What pulls the pad away from the rotor when the brake is let off? Any where I can get a diagram of it on the net? Thanks

Sorry....I didn't see this earlier.....

Retaining wire goes inside the caliper, between the caliper and the wheel.

L-shaped spacers are sliders. Hole goes UP.

YOU releasing pressure on the pedal allows the pads to relax. Lack of hydraulic pressure stops the braking friction. Nothing "pulls them back" mechaincally.

Open the link and press the schematic labled "Rear brake caliper"
