Cold blooded beeatch after dyno tune

Hey all I took my rocker to the dealer and had it dyno tuned when they put on a 50mm TB about a week ago, it also has V&H Big radius pipes, 103 stage 2 kit, heavy breather intake.

It dyno'd right around 75hp and 98ft/lbs, is that about right?
Torque curve was flat as a pancake from 2500-4500, and was just shy of 100ft/lbs.

It ran great down and all around at BBBQ in Fayetteville, BUT it's not running too good now if it's not totally warmed up and/or if it's cold/cool outside

It's been around 45 degrees in the AM when I go to work and it runs pretty sad, even with a good 5 min warm up

On acceleration, it falls flat and the POPS and then takes off hard when I go into second with any kind of aggressive throttle. Acts just like a stubborn old 650 holley on a big block chevy with no choke

It was warm this afternoon and it ran great again, it just HATES the cold.

Soooo, is this normal, should I take it back and have them re tune it?
Should I let it warm up more?
Should I give up on the SE race tuner and get a thundermax?
What about a different map from and indy?

Other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Not even a peep?

wow, well it's all good

did some researcha dn ordered the software and cables today, I'll tune it myself.

Been down that road before with an 06 Doge Charger with a radical cam in it, this can't be that much different.

Woulda been nice of the dealer to TELL me that I could buy software and cables and datalog and tune myself.

Oh well, I know now

Thanks all, I think.

I never saw it.... can you post a copy of the dyno sheet? I can tell you more from that, as to whether it's normal or not....

Oddly enough I was just digging around for it myself. Can't seem to find it, I bet they have it saved and I can call them up tomorrow and get a copy. I'll look some more though, might be at the office.

They did tell me to check for an intake leak, which I did, nada.
It's the tune.

They've been pretty good about labor and all and are very friendly and willing to answer all my questions........but the tuning, weelllll, I'm not taking it back and forth 1/2 dozen times to get it right.

I'm no idiot, I can do it now that I know I can data log and tweak my SERT

If your interested, I'll keep ya posted, thanks for chiming in.

After a lot of research and seeing friends with simular issues that you've described, I went with a Thundermax with autotune on my wife's 07 Street Bob and am extremely happy with it for many reasons. I plan to put one on my new 2010 SG when I figure out what I'm doing with exhaust and intake. The TM system offers complete flexiblity with changing conditions or changing equipment. The TM self adjusts as it needs to optimize performance. A little pricey on the front end but well worth it in the long run in my opinion. Good luck.

I have not ruled out switching to a TM, however since I now have the ability to map and tune the bike myself, (again, dealer could have told me about this vs me having to dig that knowledge up) and the know how to understand it, I'll give the SERT a good run for it's money first.

They tuned it in a warm dyno room and now you're having problems running cold ! Probably just need to fatten up the idle rpm range .

Yeah that's right, just what I'm thinking, I just rode home and it's like 55 degrees, snapped the throttle for a downshift and "chug/pop" it did it again. Did it in a parking lot so bad it felt like it fired a cylider way early on the upstroke, you could FEEL it stop the motor for a split second.

Easy on the throttle is the rule till I get it sorted out.

That dyno room coulda been 80-85-90 degrees, who knows?

And oh yeah they put about 150 miles on it on the dyno, is that 'bout right or wayyy to many?

That's INSANE....... One Dyno run is about equivalent to a 1/2-3/4 mile run, from first gear, to fourth gear, through roll-on, to shut down.

Are you sure it's 150 miles? Jeeezusss..............

At 80 miles an hour, that would have been just short of 2 hours, constantly running..........

yea 150 miles doesnt seem right, also check your fuel maps seems like you may not be getting the fuel right I have not messed with SERT but I have done a lot with HPtuners on my gto, and one thing I have learned is its all about the fuel....
