Carb porn

I love rebuilding carbs. I love modding them as well. With EFI here, and no more carbs from HD, I'll be stashing parts away. Got my latest one yesterday (on the right) . Polished the throat and slide, drilled the slide, Dynojet slide spring, emulsion tube, 195 main, 48 pilot, main needle on the 3rd from bottom groove, New float, needle and accel pump. Also has an air horn for enhannced air flow in to the venturi.

Thanks to Dean for the donor carb.

Looks good Dave ... I got a feeling those plastic fuel elbows are going to be replaced ! One thing though ... don't polish the intake manifold , that tends to make the fuel sheet along the interior surface rather than to remain atomized .

Agree, Schmidty. Intake needs to be rough to assist in atomization.

The plastic fuel inlets are coming, this week. Looking for carb part info

I ordered a Thunderjet kit as well for the one carb to add a 3rd fuel circuit. Gonna try that and see how well it works.

Where are you going to drill the hole for the Thunderjet ? Don't ya need a jig to locate the hole ? I'm asking cause I've got a Thunderjet kit for my S&S Super G and was told It's gotta be located in a specific spot to be effective .

Not 100% sure yet. I know one goes in the float bowl, and the other into the carb venturi, in a specific location. A friend of mine has the jig, and he's done a few CV's, and said he'll so one of mine as well, if I get the kit.

I'm sick of buying specialty tools and using them once or twice....

I'll post up when I do it, if not take pics as we're doing it.
