2008 FLSTC Fuel leak?

Hi All, I'm new here and figured this is a great place to ask a question. I have a 2008 Heritage Softail and its my first ever Harley so my experience with these bikes is limited. Here's my problem, When I first got it (Brand new) I gased it up at work and it sat in the parking lot until quitting time. It sat in the sun for 4 hours and when I started it up, Gas came spewing out of the vent tube hanging underneath. I shut it down and waited a bit, Started it up and everything seemed fine so I figured I must have overfilled it and the sun caused overpressure in the tank. No more problems for a year. Yesterday, on my 3rd ride of the year I filled her up and headed out. About a mile down the road at 50 mph, Gas started spraying all over me and seemed to be coming out from under the tank. I pulled over and killed it to see wtf. I couldnt find any indication of where it came from except for a couple of drops on the vent tube. Once I couldn't smell gas anymore, I fired her up and everything seemed fine once again. It was a hot day yesterday, in the 80's, And I'm sure I didn't overfill it. Unfortunatly, my dealer wont be open again until tuesday so I wanted to ask here if anyone has seen this before? I'm scared to ride it for very long as spraying gas and a hot engine are not a good mix and I really don't want to be the flaming guy on the side of the road. Anyway, Thanks for reading this and any help would be appreciated. I'm suppose to ride with pals this afternoon but I'm a bit skiddish to go.

Thanks,
Steve

head over to the intro page and give formal intro.

You might have a clogged vent line or something that's allowing the tank to pressurize. BUT I'm no expert. So any minute now someone will ring in with a better answer I'm sure of it.
