Do it Yourself ReMap

Hello all,
I'm going to upgrade my Iron 883 exhaust with a set of Khrome Werks HPPlus slip-ons and so a Stage 1 air filter, but want to do the ReMap myself if possible. Does anyone know of a part number for the
USB(computer) to ECM adapter that I would need for this? Also, any advice on where I can get the map for this? I would like to do this for the learning experience, as well as a little monetary savings. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and happy riding to all.

Unless you have an HD scanner/programmer with the appropriate HD programming software, I don't see it happening off a home PC.

Remap....thanks Dave

I figured as much. Been reading about the USB power commander,
but then I'll have to shell out the dough anyway. Guess I'll just install the stuff myself, then take'er down to the shop for the final adjustments.
Very much appreciate your advice! Have a good one.

The PC-USB model is simple to use. It has a USB cable that plugs into the ECU (Power Commander's unit) and to your PC. You get a disc with the kit and you can even get the software off their site.

Also, Power Commander has free maps that you can match up to your options and down load them from their site, or take them off the disc.

You can also physically go into the mapping and change parameters in the rev ranges in small increments.

Thanks again

And hopefully easy to install too! It sure would be nice to have something on the bike for remapping in the garage so as to avoid shelling out all that money to the local dealer. Especially if you can just get all the info from the included disk(s) or download from their site. Would be very cool to just plug in the info, such as exhaust type & air filter, and have the computer input the map. Thanks again Dave
and have a great week.

The Power Commander is very user friendly, can re Map my scoot with my laptop, can reprogram (fine adjust) my Map with a plug in with a 9 volt battery, at the side of the road...
