New jets installed in 01 883

today i put a few mods on my bike including jets. I will list all the things i have done.

1) hammered hole in baffle plates, then pulled the entire plate out. (but not the entire baffle)
2) cut out material from back of air cleaner to increase airflow
3) new drag specialties high flow air filter
4) drilled variable venturi vacuum port appx 40% larger
5) adjusted a/f
6) installed big 'ol jets

the stock jets are 42 and 160. I installed 45 and 180.

the result of all this stuff is louder (OF COURSE) and deeper tone exh. The top end is screaming. it goes 70 in 3rd now. with the huge 180 jet it takes massive airflow to make the bike really take off. when the rpms get up it really hauls. the midrange is much quicker to climb, much better throttle response. the low end could be better. it takes more throttle from a stop to get going than it did before. it is slow to climb rpms from low end to the mid. then it goes faster than ever. maybe i have the a/f set incorrectly?

explain this to me, the a/f screw alows more fuel into the mixture, and if this is true then the farther out the screw is set, the more fuel there will be.
when i first checked the a/f screw the cap was already removed, and the screw was almost 3 turns out. who put it there i dont know.
it is now set at 2 3/8 out.
with a description of what i have done and how it acts where do you guys think the a/f shoud be? out more (richer) or in more?
