RideMaxx fuel management system

Has anyone here installed their own RideMaxx Wireless Fuel Injection Control? I only want my '07 Road King Classic to run cooler. If it improves the performance some, that's ok. My main interest is making my engine run cooler and last longer. As we all know, even though a stock Harley engine is designed to run hot, heat is probably the worst enemy for an engine, other than poor maintenance and hot-Rod riding. For those that have installed a RideMaxx system on your own bike, how much time is involved and what was the cost of the unit and where did you buy it? I have only installed a set of Rinehart Slip-Ons. Does the RideMaxx have owner-operator installation instructions? If installing the RideMaxx will not benefit a stock engine and intake, I am not interested.

Found this: American Micro-Fuel Device Corp.: RideMaxx

I don't know anyone personally who's used one. Sorry. What I can tell you is that it's a piggy-back system. It comes with three modes that even if stock, the "Auto" mode should benefit you. I've read that you can send it back to the factory to have them add other maps for mods, or you can do it yourself. It's definitely one of the cheaper options on the market of the like 8 different systems you can chose from.

Ridemaxx
Two channel add on Fuel Management System
Includes cableless FuelMaxx ECU plug-in Unit
Includes wireless RideTuner unit with power and economy settings
Works with any air filter
Works with any exhaust
Bluetooth® enabled
Ability to Lean or Enrich fuel
Up to 10% in added horsepower
Up to an added 25 miles per tank

Ridemaxx Plus
Includes all the features of the original RideMaxx plus...
Gear Position and Speed available as a tuning input.
Acceleration Trim setting allows the user to fine tune quick throttle movements.
Deceleration Trim setting allows the user to combat backfiring and other unwanted exhaust noise on deceleration.

I found out some information about the RideMaxx Wireless Fuel Injector Control. I spoke to a tech at American Micro-Fuel. He gave me a run-down of the basic system.....that's all I was interested in. The basic unit has 3 settings: ECONOMY, POWER and AUTOMATIC, I think he said. If you want to save about $50, you can buy the unit without the handlebar remote switch. The unit will then work in Automatic mode. The power mode will enrich the fuel air mixture from the stock setting of 14500:1 to 13500:1 air to fuel ratio. He also said the switch could be used while riding. I also ask what the assembly instructions were and he gave me the following information.

1) Remove right side bag
2) Remove right side plastic cover
3) Loosen the ECU bolts
4) Unplug the ECU connector
5) Slide the RideMaxx onto the ECU
6) Screw down the locking nameplate to secure the RideMaxx to the ECU
7) Plug the harness connector into the RideMaxx
8) Tighten the ECU bolts
9) Reinstall the ECU cover, and bag

it looks simple, if only to make the bike run richer, and that means cooler, too.....

That's pretty much all I'm interested in. It looks like a promising new option.

Juke,

Did you end up installing one of these on your bike? Looking into it as well.
