Garage Door Opener
How well does the garage door opener that operates from your high beam work? How easy is it to install.
I see HD makes one ($130) and there is also another company that makes what looks to be the same thing ($75).
Does it interfere with the origional door openers?
Thanks!

Neighbor has one.
Works well.
Doesn't interfere with the original, since it works on the same frequency. (matched)
He had the dealer install it. Your garage door opener is a simple, 12v (controler) operating device to begin with. Depending on what model, I know guys that have taken them apart, hidden the internals in the bike, powered it through the bike's 12v source, and used the highbeam power source to trigger it. $30 from Sears is a lot cheaper then $130 from HD.
You can see how easy it is here.....

Dave,
Cool! I just may have to take apart the opener from the cage and give it a try!
Thanks,

I just carry my garage door opener in my left chest pocket. When I leave or get home I push on my chest and the door opens. It gets me excited and opens the door at the same time. Who'da thunk it? Didn't cost me a cent.......
