Turn Signal Problem

In attempting to add lighted mirrors with runnung light and turn signals I have somehow shorted out the turn signals after installing one side. 1st side (right) worked, but in wiring the left side I must have shorted something as no turn signals work. Running light are OK (even on the right mirror), but no turn signals.
Check fuse block but do not know which fuse controls the turn signal module. Looked at light and P&A fuses and they are OK.

Any assistance would be appreciated

Check for a pinched wire from the installation of the left mirror.

If one side works and the other side doesn't it's not a fuse . Recheck all of your installation and if it seems right then you may have a faulty mirror . Another thing ... if the turn signals are LEDs you'll need to add a load equalizer to get the signals to blink .

I think he's trying to say that when he had only the right one installed, it worked. But after he installed the left one, that is when it stopped working.

Thats how I read it anyway.

I reread the post and you're right . Still think he'll need the equalizer if the signals are LEDs .

Hey guys, thanks for the input, but is there a fuse for the turn signal module? This was designed for an HD, and the 1 installed first worked with no issues. I still think I crossed wires when attaching the 2nd one because no turn signal works

You can test all the fuses with a simple test light . Connect the clip end to a good ground , turn on the ignition and then test at each fuse , at both sides of the fuse where you can see metal through the plastic . Probe each fuse at 2 points and if the test light doesn't light at any point the circuit is open . I'm saying this as sometimes a visual inspection of a fuse doesn't always turn up a bad fuse .

Fuse should be good if your running lights are working. IIRC the same fuse is used for both running lights, and turn signals.

If you had your controls apart make sure the wires are in the dimples of the bars and not pinched between the controls. Most he time when they dont flash its a ground issue.

Badassbrustus,
Thanks, looked at that and plug is inserted with no problem Does the flasher itself have a fuse? Running lights do work, just no turn signal. I spliced into the exsitinh wires and when I accidently wrapped the mirror ground to the wrong (brown) wire and then wired the hot mirror running light is when the signals stopped working. I should have placed the mirror ground to the black wire (ground) not the brown. So where is the flasser element? And can that misswiring blow/ruin the flasher unit?

Thanks.
