Cool risers for Sportsters and Dyna SG

If you own a Sportster or a Dyna Super Glide, which has the speedometer, turn signal indicators, high beams, etc mounted in single unit that is part of the upper handlebar clamp, you know what a pain the butt it is if you want to add pull-back risers. These risers change the angle that the speedometer unit attaches to the risers putting the speedo at a near vertical angle that makes it tougher to read. When I put risers on the Sportster, the local shop owner said that no one made pull-back risers that didn't change the angle of the speedo.

Tonight, after looking for risers for my SG, I stumbled over a set that do exactly what I wanted. They pull the bars back 2" while keeping the speedometer at the same angle as the stock risers. They raise the bars 1" which is about what the stock risers do. That is a good thing because the bars that I want to use already have enough rise, they are just a little bit too far forward.

A related recommendation, more stretch relief, but w/o the requirement to keep the cover/clamp flat like before, I got 6.5 in pullback risers to fit my '05 LowRider and didn't have to change cables, although I probably should.
Top quality, very nice change and only $80 (Required shorter clamping bolts)

I just hate the idea of guessing at replacement handlebar fit, this was a cheat.

That is what I'm doing right now - working at getting a new set of handlebars. I need about the same pullback as the stock bars with about an inch more rise and another 3 inches in width. I'd really like a set of swingback bars, but they won't work with my speedometer setup, unless I get someone to do some custom fabrication.

Man wish I would have seen those before I bought the ones I got. I got the 4" pull back risers from HD. Yeah it puts the Speedo up at a 90 degree angle, but I've gotten used to it. Comfy ride.

I bought some flat bar and bent it into a Z and put my guages back in the original position. Cost me about 10 bucks for metal and a can of rustoleum. I had 4" up an 2 1/2 back ,before i put on my mini apes.

Could you post a picture of the finished product?

Did'nt really take any good pics, and now i have apes. But you can see how they worked. You can bend them to have your gauges at any angle you want.
