No helmet law in Illinois but I wear one anyway. I've never liked them and over the last few years of renting Harleys I wouldn't wear one but when I got the "official" OK to get a bike, it was part of the deal. Now that I've been wearing one since August I'm used to it and wear it all the time. I got the German Army Helmet and my wife hates it. I told her our deal was that I would wear one, not that she'd like it.

I did get engine guards and have a few COOL helmets that I don't mind...even with it's 99 degrees and melting on my coconut. But will always wear one.

That would be me I guess.

It's bogus law to fug with bikers iregardless. Logic would dictate that if helmets "save lives" of bikers then they would do the same for any occupant of any type vehicle also.
So why aint everybody else gotta wear em. Dont quack about seat belts and airbags taking up the slack cause the crashees would be even "safer" if they was wearing a helmet.
Naw you aint gonna see any fat A##ed cadilac riding politician vote himself a helmet to wear or a majority of his constituants either.

Kind of a jealosy thing too. "Look at that freebird out there riding like he could give a crap and I gotta sit in ths little eco crap car and wear my crappy seatbelt. WE gotta do sumpin about his smart assless chaps assless chaps wearing A##.
