Yes, they share alot of the same features, but to say that every metric cruiser is a copy of a Harley is a bit of a stretch. Is every pickup truck a copy of the F150?
There are only so many ways you can dress up a motorcycle. Many manufacturers had specifc designs that Harley "copied" later on, by your definition.
The Jap companies cannot build a cruiser without it being a direct copy of Harley. That's utter horse ####!
What about Triumph's cruiser? Is it a copy, with it's 2300cc 3 cylinder?
The M109R is a badass looking bike, but comparing the two side by side, it looks, handles, feels, and rides NOTHING like a V-rod.
####, the V-rod is nothing but a copy of a Honda Nighthawk, if you want to go that far.
Harley makes ok bikes. They have high resale value. They have a great image. They sound good.
"Outside of that, they don't have a leg up on the competition. The jap cruisers are more bike for less money. Granted, they do not have the resale that the Harley's do, but that doesn't make them a bad bike (or a copy). You can't say, "OMG!!!11!!1 You've got chrome and sidepipes, you're copying Harley!1!!!1" and be serious.
A cruiser is a style of motorcycle. Just like a sportbike, a standard, a naked, a dual sport, etc. Lots of people made them before, during, and after Harley. It was a style before Harley's became the status symbol that they are. If anything, they would be copying the work of the earlier companies."

How good are you at fabricating your own aftermarket customizations?

I would have probably been more inclinded to answer this, had it been asked. "Can you give me a few reasons why I should buy a Harley over a Suzuki: I'm looking at both the M109R and the Night train"

Is $$$ an issue ??? If you're looking at quality, HD is the only choice...I know guys with the Suzuki bikes...plastic all over them and they are falling apart.....plus the Boulevards don't have a gas tank where the tank looks to be...It's under the seat, holds a lot less fuel = 100 mile range...HD is the American choice...plus my NT don't run on rice...
