Took mine out for a ride. The wind was so strong, I thought I was riding on a small circle track.

hooked up battery tender cables and charged the battery. Went to leave and all was good till I hit the start button. All power dropped and she was dead.

Did some finagling around and it turns out that the positive battery cable to the starter (I think) was held together by three or four strands of wire. Yanked that out, built a new battery cable and now she runs better than ever! glad it died on me in the shop rather than out on the road somewhere.

I'm still pretty much riding mine everyday. Yesterday it was -2C in the morning and peas soup fog all 40 miles of dark country roads to work. One of the most scared I've ever been riding a motorcycle in 42 years.

I hear ya Chris.

I can take downpours, wind and cold temps without batting an eyelash but put pea soup fog on the road and I have to change my drawers when I get to the office .

Rode 50 miles, changed oil, and rode 50 more. Not bad for late November. I am loving this global warming.
