Even though I would not own one I do not like hearing this, with one less motorcycle manufacture now I hope it does not allow Harley let the quality slide down hill with out the pressure of the competition. Even though they are going to keep parts for 10 years I wonder if now the Victory's will start loosing value and become a worthless motorcycle in a few years that no one will want and could not get their money out of it when trying to sell,I hate to see people loosing their jobs and hope the company can absorb them into the other operations.

I see a lot of Indians and Vics down here in southern Arizona!
I think Indian will survive.........For a few years anyway. The 100 hp Scout is an awesome bike!

Indian has a chance , they have a past history going back to the beginning........Triumph and Royal Enfield have returned and struggled , but they both survive and fill their little niche. Harley survived by stepping up their R&D in the 80's with the EVO line of engines and soon after they went retro with the Heratage line , the softail frame, chromed out Springer front end w/disc brakes....and they sold like crazy, so much so you had to put your name on a list to get one.....if Indian does the same thing , they are half way there, they have the new motor and transmission, they just have to work on the way they look...and loose the fringe

Good news for the folks in Iowa who work in the Victory plant , sounds like they might retool for an Indian run.

The Indian classic styling can get my blood going. But, I'm not seeing the eye-popping cool the old bikes had. The new Indians are nice looking, but not enough to talk me into pulling out my wallet.

But, I hope Polaris does well with it. H-D needs the competition to keep them on their toes. I think the Milwaukee Eight is a step in the right direction.

I've been reading the Vic/Indian Boards this AM. Interesting to see the differences in attitude. On the Vic boards they are pissed and VERY anti Polaris. Many saying they would never go to Indian for fear of the same thing happening. There were a couple of poor guys who "chose poorly" and had just bought new Vics in the last couple of days! On the Indian boards they are "understanding", but think the Vic owners just need to be talked off the ledge. The Indian owners think this will be great for Indian. They see all those folks coming over to them and feel Polaris will now put all its MC attention on their brand. I think as the Vic owners trade out of their current rides they will split between Indian and HD. Can't see them getting a BMW or Ducati. From what I gather, the assembly line will be shifted to Indian, so most of the workers will still have jobs.

Ride Safe
