Back on a Harley

Around Aug 2015 I traded my 2007 Roadking for a Victory Highball. I put about 6k on it, but didn't have that visceral love for the bike that I always had with my HD's. The bike was a good machine and engineering wise was as good or better than HD. Fit and finish were way off though, which could help to explain some of the lack of the "right feeling" that was missing for me. So I was able to sell the Vic this spring without entirely losing my shirt, and picked up a 96 Fat Boy for 5K. The mileage is low, but not to low, at 19900 and I see this as a good base for a long term rideable project. Hopefully I will find the time to hang around more.

Welcome back Bob S

I've known a handful of guys that thought they would give victory or Indian a try, couple even tried out some import cruisers.
And they liked them said they ran and handle like a dream and even looked great.

Some made out purdy good and some not..when they got rid of them to get back on a HARLEY.

Just something bout a Harley!

Will say I know one that is happy with his import and rides everywhere on it! and a guy down the street has a red victory with lots of chrome and he's had it for some time now..anyway welcome back and enjoy

Old Biker told me once..Its doesn't matter how many brain cells you kill, but how many you had to begin with ?

I was able to take it for a longer ride, and discovered the bars have to be changed right away. My wrist hurt within a few miles. Luckily I have the same height bars in the garage from my road king, so it will be an easy swap. Hopefully I can put 14-16 inch apes in the winter. Just not looking to spend money till I put some miles on her, and make sure I don't have needs to take precedence
