Problem with condensation in garage
Hello yall.
I was wondering if any of yall have the same issue that I am trying to deal with at my house. Our dryer vents into our garage and this creates a ton of moisture if we run the dryer and keep the garage door closed...especially when it is cold outside. The other day I walked out into the garage and looked at my new ride since it was raining and I could not ride it. And it was soked with condensation just dripping from it. It seemed as if it were getting rained on. So we have since started leaving the garage door open while running the dryer, but I was wondering if anyone else has a permenant solution to this problem. The dryer vent is on the opposite side of the garage that the motorcycle and there are two windows that are on the same side as the motorcycle...do yall think I should open these two windows and keep them open at all times? Or will that just let too much cold/hot air in and out of the garage when the dryer is not running?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

IMO , add some length to the dryer vent and run it to the outside of the garage .

I was in the appliance repair business for 35yrs. one of the worst things you can do is vent your dryer into the garage .
1. If it's gas = carbon monoxide
2. Electric it'll create mold and if allowed, it can build to dangerous levels
3. The damp conditions well effect all electric and mechanical objects being stored in the garage, even the fuse box if it's there.
Solution is to vent properly to the out side.

I had this same problem, I moved dryer to other side of basement, and vented it outside.

What if you vented it into the attic? if it won't reach the outside.

You could vent it through the roof.
Only if you can't run it outside.

I'm guessing they have a first floor laundry and the inside door from the garage into the house goes thru the laundry room and they just vented the dryer thru the wall into the garage . If that's the case I would install a vent out the laundry room wall to the outside and plug the hole to the garage .

Peavley you should go into your User CP and change your personal info , it's still got you as not having a motorcycle !!! ...
