Speedometer & Tach

I had a 05 Sportster with the Speedometer and Tach mounted on the handlebars. Easy to read and I didn't have to look down at the tank. I now have a Dyna Super Glide Custom with the Speedo on the tank. (No tach any more even on Sportsters.) To see it I have to look down. Why? Look better? Certainly isn't safer. Sport bikes put the dials up high to avoid taking your eyes off the road. I remember a feedback request asking me what I thought of putting stuff on the mirrors. Must be the same guy who put speedo on the tank. Next they will move it to the saddle bags.

My 05 has the dual gauges on the bars. Looks really cool and is alot safer IMO.

I think all bikes should have rpm gauges, if for no other reason then they look cool

My 2012 FXDC has a tank speedo and a digital tach. I don't find it any more difficult or unsafe to glance down a them anynore that I do glancing down at the speedo in my truck. What do people want, a heads up display?

At least a tank speedometer is less dangerous than a fork speedometer.... LOL

I've been riding with a tank speedometer for a really long time you will get use to it, as just peaking at the right time and so on !!!!

Enjoy your ride ! Cheers...
