On the right bike and with the right rider it works great.
I run a P205/50R17 on my 08 Night Train. The factory size 200/55R17 made it a perfect fit. No mods needed.
I put on a lot of miles and the best I ever got out of a 200 was 7500.
During low speed parking lot maneuvers you can feel the difference but that's about it.
The gouges on my primary and the bottom of my rear brake pivot being ground flat as well as the peg ends missing indicate that cornering isn't an issue. YRMV.
