how do you keep warm on your ride?

say 30-40 degrees.....

with the "new" Ultra I am looking forward to riding thru most of the winter. as long as the white stuff subsides.

Here is what I plan to wear from boot up
tall leather work boots
flannel lined jeans
shirt, sweatshirt (or 2), heavy leather jacket
leather gloves, may end up wearing the heavy insulated gloves
full helmet
and of course the large windshield and lower fairing

the only thing I need to work on is adding some wind cover to neck
what works for you??

Cold Weather Riding

I moved to Florida

I rode just the other day to school and it was hitting around 37*. My trip is about 50 minutes on a 65mph highway. I wore some Carhart bib overalls, plain work boots, some over the calf socks, a fleece sweater, leather jacket with a light liner, gauntlet type gloves, HJC full face helmet with a breath box and chin curtain. I was quite comfy and felt like I could another 5* cooler. The EG's block a lot of wind. I was a lot more comfy than I was on my old cruiser last winter.

You can always purchase the "plug in" electric accessories...riding suit, socks, gloves, seats and grips.

I love my Carhartt's but I have not been impressed with their wind blocking qualities. seems that nothing beats leather.

Just kidding. I like cold. I don't get into "cold weather" mode until the 30's. then it is just layers. Thermal long underwear under jeans, wool socks and boots. At red lights I put my hands on the rocker boxes.
