Off season (winter) plans. What are you going to do to your bike(s)

We are approching the ¨off¨ season here. You know, when the temperature dips to below 80 degrees.

What plans does everybody have for winter builds or wrenching?

I have the Sportster trike ready to convert to 1200cc´s as well as the forward controls and tour pack install.

On the RoadGlide, I still need to install the 120r and related accessories.

What about everyone else? Tell us your plans.

Just little stuff

Polish it all up so it is spotless, especially the rims

Maybe change the shift shaft seal

Open the baffles on my pipes to where I want em

And buy some front brake pads so I'll have them on hand when the time comes


Other them that she is good to roll

I have a slightly leaking rear cylinder base gasket but nothing I am at all concerned about

I have to resist all temptation and do nothing. I know that despite what I tell myself that I am a short-timer with the Heritage and will end up on a touring frame before too long. So, at this point I need to just ride it because anything else I spend is money not going toward the next bike.

Although, I do have to pull the cam cover at the next oil change and check on the cam tensioners. If it so happens that they need attention, all bets are off. The bike will be just north of 20K by then, so hopefully all will be well.

I try to ride as much as I can even in the winter. It saves me $5 every time I ride the bike! So, I still probably commute 2 days out of every five. I wouldn't want to take it down all winter.

sHere in florida we ride all year but i am putting screaming eagle stage 2 cams in my vrod and changing exhaust and tunner on my ultra . I will do one at a time so i can ride the other bike.

Mid-Nov, getting the heads re-worked to bring it to a Stage III, replacing the cam chain tensioner with a gear drive, replacing lifters and possibly replacing the cams (all depends on what it looks like when it gets opened up). Then riding until there is ice on the ground.

SE Compensator, auto tensioner pri chain and clutch pac. Just because I can. But it's ready to ride another season either way.
