Cam End Play

How doses one properly check endpay on an Evo cam?

I bolt the cone back on and you can either measure the end play with a feeler guage at the thrust washer.....or use an end play guage.

Generally, the .055" shim is needed on aftermarket cams.

.010 to .015 is perfect. No higher.

Specs are broad at .010-.050"

The thickness of your cam chest gasket WILL make a difference.

Make sure NOT to forget the white colored thrust washer on the vent gear when putting it back together!!

Thanks Dave, I did not measure it before I opened it up, but it seemed like I had too much end play. I will measure it before I button it up.

Well.....max of .050" is a lot.
