I'm thinking the soft part of the inner motorcycle cover is being used for mouse nests? Maybe that is why those mo fo's are getting too close to your bike... I used to live in the country and any kind of soft material would get ripped off in my garage for mouse nests.

Mice need to chew to wear their inscissors down. They love chewing on electrical wiring ! They can haul over a pound of dog food or corn up inside the fairings ! I've seen popcorn flying out of mufflers already, lots of it !

If you have open pipes.. cover em. Nothing like firing up an engine and shooting a nest and 4 mice out the back... it is funny, but could be another spot they live.

Last year, I started it up after sitting for a week or so and blew about a cup of dog chow out of the tail pipe. Too bad the little bastages weren't napping in there when I fired her.
So, I don't store dog food in the garage anymore. And, I also put the kill food out.

Maybe the cat's smarter than you think. He's just waiting for the mice to get fattened up before he pounces on them.

We get alot of cars towed in from rural areas with wire harnesses chewed from rats & mice. Turns out , the insulation used on most electrical wire is made from a peanut oil base. They absolutely love it.
