True Duals

Im thinking about putting true duals on my '09 ultra classic, ive got stock now with screaming eagle slip ons, id like it to be a little more throaty sounding. Ive heard if you change your pipes you need to have the computer reprogramed, does anyone have an idea of why and what that costs? thank you.

It will change your air/fuel mixture. If you only do a download (map), your looking at about $150 at the HD. If you have already added a tuner and done a Dino, you will have to do another synonymous.

Usually with just pipes no remap is necessary. A high flow air cleaner or air cleaner and pipes would definitely need a remap.

I agree totally been told countless times that if you only change pipes then no reflash needed. Here is a little tip as far as exhaust goes if you go to an aftermarket exhaust you might as well do what is called stage 1. that is basically high flow air cleaner, exhaust and a reflash with a quality tuner. Another tip if you go this route is a 2-1 exhaust system will make more power than a true dual set-up. Bike will also run cooler with stage 1.
