what bearing design is used on the crank pin in these engines?
i dont know how they stay together!

Roller.
All roller bearings with exception of the rocker arms, that ride on bushings. I believe aftermarket are roller there as well.
No need for oil PRESSURE, rather, just the presence of oil to keep things lubed and all rollie......
No babit bearings like in a car or japanese bikes.

Because they're the farthest from the oil pump, cold starts and low oil psi can cause premature damage.
I just had my Evo rocker boxes off to regasket them. While off, I yanked the rocker shafts out, and mic'd the shafts and checked endplay. The bike is about to turn 31K, and everything is fine and all has minimum wear.
I was also pleased to see not a speck of dirt, grime or sludge in the rocker boxes, or gallies as well.

The best reason to run a true synthetic lubricant in your air cooled Harley is that dino oil starts to break down around 250 degrees or so. A good synthetic does not. If you ride around on a Harley in the hot summer, you should be using a synthetic...just to be sure. It is not uncommon to see 300-325 degrees on a hot day. But, not to worry as those Harley engineers saw that comin and the v-twin is engineered for those temps. It is an air cooled engine, ya know.
In the winter I use a good multi wt. diesel oil. You can run synthetic year around without any adverse effects. I use diesel in the colder months because of the much lower cost involved. As soon as the ambient air temps start getting above 85, back to synthetics I go. I like the added protection true synthetics offer.
