If I ever did have to replace a stock part....... how can verify that it is, in fact, stock?
Is the part# stamped somewhere?

I would hate to order a "what I think is stock" and have something else show up.

Not all Harley parts have a stamped/cast part number.

confirmation

I've been in touch with a couple of Harley places...... one locally and one online. I've asked them to verify part numbers for our example (handle bars) in the thread. Both say that the stock handlebar part number is 56004-00. One said the "last two digit" technique in determining the correct part # works sometimes, but not in this example.
