I have the FSM and the parts catalogs for my bike and was wondering if there is a reference somewhere that would which bikes a particular part number fits. So I would look up a part number and find out what other years and models a part fits.

For example the footboard pads for my 91 FLSTC are listed as 50614-91, as these are standard D-shaped floorboards, it is hard for me to believe they fit only a 91 FLSTC.

I know there is an interchange book for auto wreckers, surely there is one for Harleys as well.

I haven't seen anything like that yet. If you find something like that post it up please.

The only one I've seen is the Mike Arman book. But it only covers 1936-1983.

There is no current book for Harley. There is one, which I have, which covers 1936-1983. However, it's privately written, and not by HD.



By simply using internet parts fiche, you can go from year to year of your model, and parts are interchangable, until the part number changes from one year to the next.

The oval floor boards haven't been used in years, and were brought back for the Heritage Softail classic, and later, the 2008 Corssbones.

They are a substitute for the square boards and will fit models with square boards, as the boards/pads are the difference, and the mouting points and anchors are the same.

Thanks guys! I'm trying to replace the passenger pegs with boards. One of the dealers has a "salvage" shop, mainly old stock from the dealer, stock parts pulled off bikes they have sold, and some parts that have been traded to them for credit.

According to them the boards, covers, and pads are pretty much universal. The difference is the mounting hardware, which is specific to the bike. The dealer can order the rear boards set, all in for $249, it just seems like a lot of money for what you get. I can get from the salvage store, covers-$15 each, boards with pads-$25 each, they do not have the mounting brackets at this time. So that's $80, plus I have to find the brackets.
